Build Your Strategy

Once you know how to play, the next step is learning how to make better decisions with the tiles you’re dealt.

September 25 | Mah Jongg Strategy: Building a Better Hand
Holland Community Center

Once you understand the basics, the next question is: How do I make better decisions with the tiles I’m dealt? This strategy class focuses on evaluating your starting hand, identifying possibilities, and making choices that help your hand develop.

September 29 | Mah Jongg Charleston Strategy: Balancing Offense & Defense
Holland Community Center

The Charleston can set the direction for your entire hand. We’ll look at how to make more strategic passing decisions, recognize what your tiles are telling you, and balance building your hand with paying attention to what your opponents may be doing.

Find Your Place at the Table

There’s always something new to learn in American Mah Jongg.

Maybe you’re learning your first hand. Maybe you’re becoming more comfortable with the NMJL card. Maybe you’re ready to improve your Charleston decisions or become a more strategic player.

You don’t have to know it all at once. Learn a little more, play, and keep building from there.
