If you’ve been waiting for Prime Deal Days to invest in a Mahjong set or add a few new accessories to your collection, now is a great time to take a look.

One of the questions I get from students is, “What set should I buy?” The truth is that there are many good options, and the best choice depends on your budget, style, and how often you play. Here are a few recommendations I frequently share with clients.

For Beginners

I like the EdenRiver Mahjong Tile Set for teaching with traditional tiles, and it’s on sale for Prime Deal Days.

If you’re looking for a solid starter set that is easy to read and offers excellent value, I recommend the Mutex Mahjong Set. It includes tiles and racks to get started and is a great choice for newer players.

For Players Who Want a Little More Personality

As your Mahjong journey evolves, you may find yourself wanting a set that reflects your style while still maintaining clear, readable tiles. I especially like sets that balance beauty with functionality. I am also a fan of sets where all the jokers are the same.

This is a cute set for Halloween!

Ready for Travel?

I prefer the tiles, but if I am traveling and can’t bring tiles, mahjong cards are a good alternative for playing away from home.

Refresh Your Tablescape with a New Mat

Changing your mat is one of the easiest ways to give your game a fresh feel. A new mat can completely transform the look of your table and make game day feel special.

Don’t Overlook Your Racks

Racks are another simple way to personalize your setup. My preference is acrylic racks with attached pushers because they are lightweight, functional, and easy to use. That said, many players love the warmth and look of wooden racks.

Just for the Holidays!

Whether you’re building your first Mahjong collection or simply adding a few new pieces to keep things fresh, Prime Deal Days can be a great opportunity to find items you’ll enjoy for years to come.

As always, choose accessories that make you excited to sit down, play, and enjoy the game.
